The entertainment park Sunway Lagoon is one of the largest parks of its kind in Southeast Asia. It is situated in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, no more than a 15-minute ride away from the capital, and represents an impressively proportioned complex that includes five theme parks: the Water Park, the Amusement Park, the Extreme Park, the Wildlife Park and the Scream Park. In total, Sunway Lagoon offers a total of 80 mind-boggling amusement rides.
The Water Park features all kinds of wet and wild amusements: here, visitors can ride the exciting water slides with their steep rapids and whirlpools, try to battle the currents of the white water rides, or even try to master surfing in the world's largest swimming pool, complete with artificial, three-meter-high waves. There are special children's pools in the water park too, and in addition to its exciting water rides, Sunway Lagoon has a huge beach area for more relaxed recreation too. More than six tons of sand were used on this attraction.
The Amusement Park is designed in the style of the Wild West, which gives visitors the chance to fulfill their childhood dreams: galavanting as cowboys and Indians, riding on a thrilling roller coaster and a runaway train, and racing around the spectacular river rapids of the Grand Canyon. Moreover, guests can even go on the cruise of a lifetime on a pirate ship, which turns a full 360 degrees in the water.
Sunway Lagoon’s Extreme Park was created specifically with thrill-seekers in mind. The breathtaking attractions in this area of the complex can provide the most incredible emotions, with popular stopping points are the archery range, the paintball arena, the climbing wall, the karting track, the golf course, and even the site of Malaysia’s first Bungee Jumping experience. However, the Extreme Park’s most popular part is undoubtedly G-Force X. This truly has to be seen to be believed.
The Wildlife Park is especially interesting for the youngest visitors to Sunway Lagoon. The park represents a sizeable zoo, where more than 150 species of animals from all over the world live in generously proportioned enclosures. Among the most notable residents are hornbills, black kites, gibbons, pythons, peacocks, pheasants, monkeys, and many others besides. Special educational programs held at the park are intended to help guests learn much more about the lives of the different members of the animal kingdom, while spectacular performances involving animals and birds are regularly put on for visitors.
Finally, the Scream Park is the perfect place for those visitors who like to be kept on their toes. There are several horror rooms in this sections, but the Pontianak Theatre of Fear, with its vampires and the haunting house Rumah Hantu, as well as the area Horrorwood, is probably the most popular. The Scream Park was designed in the spirit of the apocalypse, and is inhabited by zombies and the most famous monsters from popular film.
Several hotels, trade and entertainment complexes, cafés and restaurants are situated near to the entertainment park Sunway Lagoon.
